Making content accessible and searchable for Knowledge Capital Group
By enhancing content accessibility and searchability, Knowledge Capital Group increased the value of their research, re-engaged subscribers, and reaffirmed their reputation as a trusted partner to Analyst Relations professionals.
Knowledge Capital Group (KCG) exists to support and elevate Analyst Relations (AR) professionals. Founded by a former industry analyst, KCG helps technology vendors leverage the industry analysts’ influence to be in more deals, close more deals, and build, market and sell better products.
KCG helps clients by advising them on AR Strategy, Analyst Firm Targeting, Contract Negotiation and AR Best Practices. Supporting this mission is an extensive content library accumulated during KCG’s 27 years of business. Before partnering with Content Catalyst, this important archive existed in a Dropbox folder.
Jeff Turner, KCG’s Chief Client Officer, said, “We housed all of our IP content in a Dropbox folder, which is very inaccessible for most companies because of firewalls and security. If they were able to access it, there was no way to search for content easily.”
Looking around at analyst firms, KCG noticed that other leading global research firms had stand-out publishing platforms implemented by Content Catalyst. As a result, they partnered with us to develop a new platform that would increase the value of their content by making it accessible and usable.
Phase one focused on migrating and updating foundational content for KCG’s 12-month ‘Essentials’ package subscribers. Working within a timeframe of around two months, KCG successfully launched the platform with a live demo at their annual conference, which received exceptional feedback.

Clippings feature drives end-user engagement
Jeff Turner, Chief Client Officer at KCG, said clients thought the platform was “amazing” and a “huge improvement” over the previous system. Jeff added that key features, particularly clippings, are already assisting clients in educating their internal stakeholders about AR.
“They use our content to help them tell that story and educate their stakeholders. Clippings allow them to take snippets from our presentations and white papers to create their own customised story. They really appreciate this feature and being able to mix and match and create a PDF, Word, or PowerPoint document that they can use to create their own presentations.”
Regarding their relationship with Content Catalyst, Jeff stated, “I felt that we got a lot of handholding through the process so that we were taking the best practices from other clients to set up our Showcase Page, frame the content and categorise it correctly for the best user experience. I really appreciated the project management side of things, working with Asana and the constant communication between the two organisations.”

The KCG Essentials platform enhances how clients access their content
KCG is “extremely pleased” with phase one and is already looking to phase two, where they will train and launch AI search. They also plan on utilising open and free content to showcase their insight and initiate sales calls.
Jeff added that launching the new platform mid-subscription enhanced KCG’s proposition and provided a valuable client touchpoint outside the annual renewal. By partnering with Content Catalyst, KCG has enhanced how clients access their content, upholding their reputation as a trusted and valued partner in AR.
